Russian politicians still own property in Europe, despite dirty money and the hostility to the West

With sanctions imposed on Russian officials, some of them still own property in Europe.

The Government of Finland seeks to introduce new restrictions against citizens of the aggressor country, banning them from all real estate deals up to a complete ban to own it in the country.

Spain, which is of major interest for Russians, including those close to President Vladimir Putin, has been searching to identify their assets: financial investment, real estate and other property, starting from March 2022.

Some assets, however, are out of Government’s sight.

Russian State Duma MP Vadim Belousov owns property in Spain – a 513.8 sq. m house, 5/7 Santander Street, Cambrils, Cataluna.The house is listed in his wife’s name, Irina Belousova, who was Deputy CEO of the Makfa Management Company, associated with the politician. Belousov was accused of bribery in Russia and was declared wanted. The property in Spain was bought through corruption, that way, using criminal money.

He also owns 37.2 sq.m apartment at 7 Passeig Maritim, Cambrils, Cataluna.

Alexander Bryksin, a Federation Council Senator, also owns property in Spain. The property is listed in his name and his wife’s name, Svetlana. The property was not hidden, therefore it can fall under sanctions. That is a 75.7 sq. m apartment at 1 Jacinto Benavente Street, Torrevieja city, Alicante municipality.

Russian MP Nikolai Valuev is among those Russian MPs who own property in Spain. Valuev and his wife own a 90 sq. m apartment at Legunas del Zodiaco III street, Guardamar del Segura, Alicante municipality.

MP Konstantin Zatulin, deputy head of the committee for relations with compatriots, owns a 94.2 sq. m apartment in Spain, 23 Gabriela Mistral, city of Torrevieja, Alicante municipality. Zatulin has ties to the FSB and was active in annexing Crimea. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has also imposed sanctions on him. Zatulin has added to the escalation at Ukraine-Belarus border in recent weeks, with provocative and absurd statements about Ukraine planning to attack this country. Zatulin is obviously performing PSYOP tasks by Russian intelligence to encourage the Lukashenko regime to join the war against Ukraine.

It is urgent to deprive the Putin regime of property in Europe as:

– the people in Europe are eager to oust dirty Russian money and political influence from their countries;

– this money is of suspicious origin;

– Russia sticks to hostile rhetoric against Europe, with its accomplices carrying out subversive operations there.
