Israel leaders and Jewish elites in Russia fail to notice rising anti-Semitism.

With indifferent Jewish elites living in authoritarian regimes, the Jews have always suffered from anti-Jewish riots, and persecution.

The respond by Russians to Israel-Palestine conflict shows not just sympathy for the HAMAS, but also extreme anti-Semitism, which is so radical that can be compared only to Hitler’s Germany. A livestream by Living Tack channel (that replaced Echo of Moscow, and positions itself as an opposition media, but is associated with Russia’s domestic intelligence service (FSB), illustrates that.  Elizaveta Lazerson (Anisimova) and Elizaveta Anikina, on October 22, tell an anti-Semitic joke in the studio, with the host doing nothing to interrupt, and no apologizing after the stream end.

They aired the question of what the difference between a carriage of concrete and a carriage with dead Jewish babies is. Elizaveta Anikina, who voiced the joke on-air, used to be the spokeswoman for Russia’s Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, which only emphasizes that anti-Semitism is a common thing in Russia and the government is tolerant of it.

This confirms our previous findings on rising anti-Semitism in Russia, as people are gearing up for anti-Jewish riots.

Anti-Semitism on rise in Russian leaders’ rhetoric

The Kremlin is sure to encourage these sentiments. This may be because anti-Semitism in Russia has always been a traditional tool of distracting attention from government action, used to unite people against an internal enemy, that often goes along with an external one. The Jews, from the days of tsarist Russia, have often been defined as enemies of Russia. The Jewish elites do not oppose this government policy, which contributes to further radicalization, with riots or repressions about to start.

Jewish elites in Russia currently ignore, again, preparatory steps for state anti-Semitism, full of speculations on conspiracy theories and old Soviet narratives on Jews being a driving force for the West.

We believe anti-Semitism in Russia will reach boiling point in the next 3 months. It will be due to internal political processes and exhausted options of exploiting the topic of external threats against Russia. That way, anti-Semitism may become an idea for Moscow to exploit to assume power, and silence dissent, democratic ideology, and opposition.

Anti-Semitism is an integral part of worldview and beliefs for Putin’s entourage, as former KGB officers.Israel leaders have ignored growing anti-Semitism in Russia for the last 4 years, with no attempts to influence the Kremlin, and persistent high level of loyalty to the regime, de facto, encouraging promotion of anti-Jewish sentiments. That is why this policy by Israel and Russia’s Jewish elites that cooperate with the Kremlin, will most likely trigger a new wave of persecution of Jews in Russia.
