By September 2025, Ukrainian wreckage analysis indicated that cameras and mesh-networking were becoming systematically integrated into Russian Geran drones rather than remaining isolated experiments.
This matters enormously for the CIA-facility hypothesis.
Traditional Shaheds are principally pre-programmed one-way attack weapons. A drone incorporating a camera, datalink and operator-control capability could theoretically receive mission corrections much later in flight.

AI/video-processing architecture
Iran is also moving in this direction independently—or jointly with Russia.
